Our clinicians conduct comprehensive assessments designed to understand the full picture — including developmental history, current functioning, and differential considerations.
Where clinically appropriate, structured treatment pathways may be offered, including carefully monitored medication management with regular review and clear communication.
Clinical services are delivered under regulated governance and align with:
Prescribing decisions are made independently and are never guaranteed. Medication is offered only when clinically appropriate.
We take clinical governance seriously.
Our service operates under:
Ethical practice and patient safety are embedded in everything we do.
Above all, our aim is to provide clarity.
For some, that clarity may lead to an ADHD diagnosis and structured treatment.
For others, it may lead to alternative explanations or practical guidance.
Our role is to provide careful clinical evaluation so you can make informed decisions about your next steps with confidence..
Acuimetry ADHD provides structured ADHD assessments and ongoing support for adults, children, and families. Our services include comprehensive clinician-led assessments, clear written reports, and practical recommendations tailored to individual needs. Where clinically appropriate, we offer carefully monitored treatment pathways, including medication support and regular reviews. We also provide guidance on shared care with GPs, recognising that acceptance is at the discretion of each practice. Throughout the process, we prioritise accuracy, patient safety, and clear communication, helping individuals and families understand their options and move forward with confidence.
This page brings together useful information to help you understand our process, prepare for appointments, and know what support is available to you.
Before your assessment or consultation, you may be asked to complete questionnaires or provide background information about symptoms, history, and daily functioning. Taking time to complete these carefully helps your clinician gain a clearer understanding and ensures your appointment is as effective as possible.
An ADHD assessment involves a structured clinical evaluation of current symptoms, developmental history, and how difficulties affect daily life. Not everyone who is assessed will meet diagnostic criteria, and this will always be explained clearly, with guidance on next steps.
After your assessment, your clinician will take time to explain the outcome clearly and answer any questions you may have. You will receive feedback based on the information gathered during the assessment, including symptom history, current difficulties, and clinical observations. Where appropriate, this will be followed by a written report summarising the findings and recommendations.
If ADHD is diagnosed, we will discuss the available support options in detail. This may include practical strategies, lifestyle adjustments, and, where clinically appropriate, medication pathways. Any discussion of medication will include an explanation of potential benefits, risks, and the need for ongoing monitoring and review.
If diagnostic criteria are not met, this does not mean your difficulties are dismissed. Your clinician will explain the reasoning and explore alternative explanations or contributing factors, offering guidance on appropriate next steps or referrals where helpful.
Our priority is that you leave the process with clarity and confidence. We aim to ensure you understand the outcome, feel informed about your options, and have a clear, supportive plan for moving forward, whatever the result of the assessment.
We are committed to patient safety and ethical practice. Information on safeguarding, complaints, and how to raise concerns is available at the bottom of this website.
If you are in crisis or feel at immediate risk, please contact emergency services or your local NHS urgent care service.
Medication may be considered as part of an ADHD treatment plan where it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so.
Where recommended, prescribing follows a structured pathway that includes:
Medication is only initiated following clinical evaluation and is always subject to ongoing review. Prescriptions are not issued without appropriate monitoring and follow-up appointments.
Once treatment is stabilised, we can support a Shared Care arrangement with your GP. This includes providing:
Please note that participation in Shared Care is entirely at the discretion of your GP practice. We cannot guarantee acceptance.
If Shared Care is not agreed, we will discuss alternative arrangements with you and ensure continuity of care in a way that prioritises safety, transparency, and clinical best practice.
